Thing Five-More Fun with Flickr

Flickr is a lot of fun. I made a slide show of images that I found on Flickr by searching for music notes. I could see how you can make your blogs and websites more visually appealling using their tools. That is about the only way that our library would use these tools I think. But you could easily spend hours looking at all the cool photos on Flickr!

The Fourth Thing-Flickr

I found Flickr to be very easy to add pictures to and organize. I just used the upload button on the Flickr site. I noticed there is some free software we can download for transferring pictures. I did try resizing a photo before uploading and was not successful. I wonder if the extra software makes this part of it easier. This definitely could have some applications for our library. I loved the photos from the Edible Book Festival! What a fun idea.

The Third Thing-RSS

Bloglines was much easier for me to understand than Google Reader. This was all new to me. I mean I knew that RSS existed, I just never took the time to discover what it was all about. That is the cool thing about this learning program, it is giving me the time and incentive to learn things that I thought I would never use. So I subscribed to some news feeds, blogs, and just a couple of fun things. I'm not sure I will use this at my library, but I'll file it away for possible future use.

The Second Thing-Library 2.0

I am learning so much doing this and I 'm only on the second thing! I wish I had more time to spend on it, but like Stephan Abram said, you'll find the time to do things you really want to do.
The Library 2.0 Cookbook was a nice quick overview of what it is all about. I thought it summed it up well by saying that Library 2.0 was really more an attitude than a technology. I'm getting lots of ideas for my library!
